An introduction to The Heuga Center and its philosophy, our JUMPSTART Program is often held in collaboration with other MS organizations or care providers.
Offered throughout the country, our free one-day JUMPSTART program introduces The Heuga Center philosophy and mission of teaching people with MS how to focus on their health instead of their disease. Each JUMPSTART program is customized and covers topics ranging from how to deal with cognitive and fatigue issues to goal-setting, nutrition, exercise and maintaining emotional well-being. Each JUMPSTART also updates participants about the latest developments in MS management.
JUMPSTART for Kids
JUMPSTART for KIDS focuses on education and positive strategies for living well with MS. Through a series of activities, children experience what many symptoms of MS feel like, both physically and emotionally. They are taught creative strategies for living positively with the disease in their family. Children are separated into groups so that the information is provided at age appropriate levels. Enrollment is limited to 25 families, including all the children in each family.
The JUMPSTART for KIDS is a free program and optional activities for parents are provided for a minimal fee.
