Programs Promotional Flyer

We offer three specific educational wellness programs for people who have multiple sclerosis and their families. Our flagship program is the five day CAN DO program. CAN DO 2 is a two-day follow up, and the JUMPSTART program is a one day introduction to The Heuga Center wellness philosophy.  All of the Heuga Center's programs are based on the philosophy that you can have a chronic condition AND have your health. With our team of MS experts in fields such as neurology, psychology, nutrition, and physical, occupational and speech therapy, the programs provide supportive and nurturing environments where participants learn how to minimize the impact of MS.  By addressing the physical, emotional, intellectual and social aspects of MS, our empowering programs teach people distinct tools and strategies that help them maximize their quality of life, and shift their focus from what they cannot do to what they CAN DO.  Personal attention is the key to the success of The Heuga Center's programs. All our program staff members have experience in working with people with MS. They take the time to listen, answer questions and provide individual recommendations.

Overview

CAN DO

Using a multidisciplinary team of nationally recognized professionals, this intensive five-day program provides a comprehensive education about MS - its effects, treatment options and lifestyle adaptations. During this program, participants develop a personalized "lifestyle prescription" designed just for them. In addition, sessions for support partners provide education for spouses, parents and friends. The CAN DO Program has a staff to participant ratio of 2:1, and provides 45 hours of group and individual service in five days.

CAN DO 2

A follow-up program for CAN DO graduates, this two-day educational/wellness program is designed to refresh and re-motivate past participants. Each CAN DO Program is limited to 15 participants and their support partners.

JUMPSTART program

This one-day program introduces The Heuga Center education/wellness model and philosophy. JUMPSTART programs are held throughout the country, often in collaboration with other MS organizations or care providers.
