May 2008 CAN DO

It is Saturday at our May CAN DO program and many of the team leaders are working with their participants.  Other staff members are winding up their duties and paperwork.  It has been a fabulous group of individuals who have attended this program.  Saturday is always the day of mixed emotions for both staff and participants.  Everyone is fatigued from a long week of consultations interaction with each other and a plethora of 'information transfer'; conversely many people are energized by the interaction they have had with healthcare professionals and their peers.  We are all getting ready for dinner and our continuation ceremony which is a joyous occasion.

It is hard to believe that we have almost comleted another CAN DO program.  After 16 years of involvement with the CAN DO program, I am still energized (and fatigued) at the end of one of our programs.  I look forward to keeping in touch with the participants who will be heading home tomorrow and meeting the next group of participants in Tarrytown, NY, August 6-10.
