1. Cooling Equipment Distribution Program
MSAA offers cooling items which can help lessen the negative effects of heat and humidity for individuals with heat-sensitive MS. Cooling kits (containing a cooling vest, wrist bands, and neck wrap) are available free of charge through MSAA (financial eligibility requirements apply).

Applications for this program and other MSAA programs may be downloaded from MSAA’s Web site or you may contact MSAA at (800) 532-7667, extension 130.

2. MRI Institute
MSAA provides insurance advocacy and financial assistance to individuals in need of follow-up MRI exams to help determine disease activity and/or treatment effectiveness. The MRI Institute assists MS patients with payment for a cranial and/or cervical spine MRI to monitor or assess the progression of MS. The program is designed for patients who do not have insurance, who have inadequate insurance (including Medicare), or who need assistance with gaining approval from their insurance company for this important testing. This program is also designed for patients who do not have the financial means to pay for the test themselves. Financial eligibility requirements apply.

Patients needing an MRI exam specifically to determine a diagnosis of MS are not eligible for this program. However, those patients may be eligible for the MSAA MRI Diagnostic Fund.

For more information, visit MSAA’s Web site or call (800) 532-7667, extension 120.

The MRI Institute is supported by EMD Serono, Inc. and Pfizer Inc.

3. Resource Detectives Program
MSAA needs you "on the case" as a Resource Detective to help identify valuable resources for the MS community. Through MSAA's Resource Detectives Program, volunteers use skills to research and report information about local agencies and organizations that offer assistance for the MS Community.

For more information, please contact Bonnie Yares at 800.532.7667, extension 132 or
by e-mail at byares@msassociation.org or visit MSAA’s Web site.

The Resource Detectives Program is supported through a grant from Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation.

National Multiple Sclerosis Society NMSS

We are moving research forward. Ask Congress … What will you do?

In cross-collaboration, MS patient organizations and MS activists from around the world have come together throughout March. Together, we are raising MS awareness and calling on Congress to increase federal investment in multiple sclerosis research.

Take action today. Send a quick e-mail to your legislators.

Federally funded discoveries have led to our knowledge of the immune system, MS lesions, disease monitoring, and potential genetic factors. When research dollars dwindle, so does MS research. We are helping move research forward. What will you do?

The Consortium of MS Centers, The Heuga Center for Multiple Sclerosis, the International Organization of MS Nurses, the Montel Williams MS Foundation, the MS Association of America, MSFriends, and the National MS Society together call on Congress for increased federal funding for MS research. Join the movement. Take action today.
