2 Days. 79 miles. 12,340 feet of elevation gain. Mountain bike the scenic Colorado Trail in the San Juan Mountains from Molas Pass along the continental divide back to Durango.
All riders are required to register online. For planning purposes, registration must be completed no later than July 20, 2008. This year’s ride will be limited to sixty people and it is anticipated that these spots will fill quickly. To reserve a spot, a $100 non-refundable deposit is required--this will be applied to your overall fund raising contributions.
The CT Jamboree will take place along a portion of the Colorado Trail that passes through very challenging and remote terrain. The starting point is Molas Pass(10,880ft.), which is north of Durango along Hwy 550. The first day’s ride will bring riders from Molas Pass to Hotel Draw—nearly 30 miles south. On day two, riders will leave Hotel Draw and ride south to Durango; this portion of the trail is roughly 40 miles long. Each day has significant elevation gain and loss, somewhere in the realm of 6,000 to 7,000ft per day. Although there are a few points where leaving the trail is possible, none are easy or convenient. You should be prepared to finish each stage of the ride and not count on ‘bailing out’ early, as this will be difficult at best.

Each participant is strongly encouraged to raise a minimum of $250 in pledges and/or direct donations. But, by all means, exceeding that is preferred. (The $100.00 registration deposit applies towards this amount). A majority of the contributed money will go directly to the Heuga Center, but this year 5% will be also be given to two local organizations that help maintain the access and integrity of local trail systems: Colorado Trail Foundation and Trails 2000.
