John joined The Heuga Center’s Board of Directors in 2006, after being involved as a volunteer on the Center’s Development Committee. He continues to serve on the Development Committee, and is the principal organizer and benefactor of the Center’s Dine Out for MS events.
John was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. He attended the University of Colorado where he received his BA in Business. For the past 10 years, John has been President of Silver Lining Management and Development, a company specializing in commercial real estate development and hospitality management. Prior to co-founding Silver Lining, John worked as a marketing and sales representative for a number of medical manufacturing firms.
Silver Lining’s headquarters and John’s principal office are housed in The Dusty Boot Steakhouse & Saloon located in Beaver Creek, Colorado. Known as “The Boot” by Vail Valley locals, John’s restaurant is a 5,000 square foot facility with a seating capacity of 200. The Dusty Boot is the site of Dine Out for MS events, during which John and his staff donate all daily lunch and dinner proceeds to The Heuga Center. Each event raises thousands of dollars, as well as awareness in the local community of our ongoing efforts to improve the lives of those living with MS. John’s other mountain restaurants include the Quandary Grill and Taddeo’s Italian in Breckenridge and the Kickapoo Tavern and Wolf Rock Brewing in Keystone. In the summer of 2006, John launched Dine Out for MS at Taddeo’s in Breckenridge, providing The Heuga Center with valuable exposure and funds within the Summit County community.
John became exposed to multiple sclerosis and the work of the Center when the wife of his best childhood friend was diagnosed with MS four years ago. Since that time, John has been actively involved with the Center and has generously supported us with his time, talent, and resources.
John lives in Edwards, Colorado with his wife, Crissy, and young daughter, Lyle. He is the quintessential Colorado native – skier, mountain biker, and fly-fisher – and loves traveling to find those perfect places to ski and fish.
