Dick Neustedter joined The Heuga Center’s Board of Directors in 2003, after many years of involvement as a Snow Express/Vertical Express for MS participant at Squaw Valley USA. As an officer on the board, Dick has served as a member of the Center’s Executive, Marketing and Development Committees. Dick also presided over the Feasibility Study Task Force, an ad hoc committee that carried out a major study in 2006 to plan The Heuga Center’s future. In 2003 Dick was the first recipient of what is now the Board Member of the Year Award.
Dick studied Business Management and Marketing at both Northern Illinois University and San Jose State University in California. He enjoyed a successful 25-year career in the high tech environment of Silicon Valley, specifically in the semiconductor equipment industry, holding a variety of executive level positions in marketing, sales and business development. Dick has been a successful fundraiser and ambassador for many years, and The Heuga Center continues to be his charity-of-choice for both time and financial resources. He is committed to supporting Squaw Valley as one of the principal events of the annual Vertical Express for MS.
Dick’s grandfather had multiple sclerosis and, through The Heuga Center, he now has many other friends living with MS. These connections, and a desire to give back for the good fortune he has received, are what motivate him.
In 2002, Dick left Applied Materials, Inc., where he served as the Director of Business Development, to take a break from the corporate work environment. He currently pursues his passions, which include alpine skiing, international adventure travel, and greater involvement with non-profit organizations.
