I'm not sure where last week went!! I had every intention of getting back to you about our CAN DO program and before I knew it, it was Friday!
The CAN DO program in Plymouth went well the rest of the way and the participants were wonderful. It was great to interact with all the individuals who came from across the country to attend the program for five days. Not only was the group geographically diverse, but it was also very diverse, as each group of participants tends to be. It is always fabulous to see the group come together, despite their diversity, and find what is common amongst them. There is always a group connection that can't be predicted and can't be well explained, but it occurs at each program. It is wonderful to be part of that experience each and every time.
In addition, it is great to be part of a staff comprised of caring individuals. It is a group that has faced recent adversity, but gains strength from each other. This was also apparent in Plymouth where the staff worked hard to provide an individualized service for the participants in attendance, but also supported each other. It is an honor to be part of that group of individuals.
We may have left Minnesota, but we are still thinking of the people affected by the tragedy that occurred while we were hosted by the generous and thoughtful people in the Twin Cities. Brian
