CAN DO 2

We completed our most recent CAN DO 2 program in Ypsilanti, Michigan.  The CAN DO 2 programs, developed in 1997, are a wonderful opportunity for us to see people who attended previous CAN DO programs.  People return for the follow-up program for many reasons, but often it is to 'reconnect' with people who have a CAN DO attitude.  One participant at this particular program told me, that "You know what to expect coming in, so you can 'jump in' a lot earlier".  That was in reference to interaction with other participants and staff.

At this particular program we had people who had attended the CAN DO program from 9 months ago to 18 years ago.  It was a wonderful program and wonderful to see those who returned for the long weekend.

Hopefully it re-energizes our participants as much as it re-energizes our staff.  Brian

Can Do 2 in Ypsilanti

I, for one, truly do feel re-energized. I returned home about midnight on Sunday. On Monday I went right away to my stretching class and added an aerobic session on the stationary bike per Heuga staff recommendations. Tuesday I asked my aquatics program instructor to help find adaptations that would make that exercise program more aerobic for a woman who has difficulty picking up her legs now even in cool water. Today I took my new management plan to my neurologist for his input and support. How's that for being re-energized? The Heuga staff answered all of my questions, gave me the advice I really needed and provided the booster shot to set me back on track again. Thanks Heuga Center! When do we do Can Do 3?

Thanks

Montye,

You are an inspiration to us all.  I'm glad you found the CAN DO 2 program beneficial.  Keep up the great work!!!
