Sioux City, Iowa JUMPSTART

A good afternoon from Sioux City, IA.  I am here along with other programs staff members, Randy Schapiro, Dave Engstrom and Ann Mullinix for a JUMPSTART program tomorrow morning.  We are looking forward to a good crowd of people to participate.  It has been great to work with the Dakota Dunes chapter of the National MS Society on this program and they have done a fantastic job of getting the word out on this program.

Tarrytown, NY

Greetings to everyone from Tarrytown, NY!  I am currently in Westchester County, NY for a couple of reasons.  One reason is to look at the Westchester Marriott for a CAN DO program.  I am pleased to report that we will be holding our CAN DO program at the Westchester Marriott on August 6-10, 2008.  I am excited that we will be returning to New York since we haven't been here since 2004.

MS Awareness Month

March is MS Awareness Month!  The National MS Society's MS Awareness week is this week (March 10-16).  The MS Foundation dedicates the entire month as MS Awareness Month.

Happy (Belated) Valentine's Day

I hope everyone had a good Valentine's Day.

February....already!

Well we are already into the second month of the year which for The Heuga Center means we are entering into our Vertical Express for MS season.  Don't get me wrong, the preparation time has been underway for quite some time and now it is time for the events to begin!

Happy New Year!!!!!

I hope everyone had a good holiday season and your 2008 is off to a good start.  My resolution this year is to be more diligent in my blogging!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Here in the United States many of us are preparing for the Thanksgiving holiday.  We, at The Heuga Center, personally and as an organization, are very thankful.  We are thankful for all the people we have come in contact with over the past year through our programs and services.  These include people living with multiple sclerosis, their support partners, the many healthcare providers who are dedicated to providing exemplary service to people with MS and the many MS organizations that we collaborate with on a day to day basis.

ARIZONA PROGRAMS

It has been another busy week on the programs and services side.  I'm currently in Tucson, Arizona, but we have had quite a presence in Arizona over the past seven days.  Last Saturday (November 3rd) we had a JUMPSTART program in Phoenix.  Wednesday we hosted a dinner for primary care providers in Phoenix and last evening (Thursday) we hosted a similar program in Tucson.  The primary care provider programs have been very well received.  The attendees have participated actively in discussion about the medical management of MS, but also have be

Where did October go?

Hi everyone, I can't believe it is already November.  October was an extremely busy, but also rewarding month here at The Heuga Center.  In the first week of October, we held a CAN DO program here in Vail.  We were supposed to receive a lot of snow over the weekend of the program, but it didn't really materialize so there weren't travel delays and the program participants were able to enjoy autumn weather in the Colorado Rockies (more on the Colorado Rockies baseball team later).  Following that program we hosted a program in Salt Lake City for primary care providers.
